local flavor

our first day of vacation took us through driving rain in southern kansas and northern okalahoma. the skies had cleared and it was time for lunch as we pulled into tulsa. this is the restaurant we found at an exit near a university. we saw the sign and knew instantly we had to stop. we took it as a good sign that the parking lot was full of  law enforcement vehicles. officers usually know the good places. the menu was coneys, fritos or spaghetti topped in various combinations of chili, onions, cheese and mustard. the drinks were self service, the chips in little bags and dessert was twinkies or fruit pies by the cash register. definately local flavor that has been around since 1926.

notice the law enforcement officers at the next table.
