farmer’s market was bleak today. many people passed us by on their way to these two stores. i had a visitor at the booth who stopped on his way out from picking up some bread from the food pantry. he shared with me about living in the northeast and how he could sleep on the lawn in shorts, “can’t do that in kansas, there are little bugs that crawl up your leg.” he said he would see me next tuesday. and then quietly walked across the street to a loaded down minivan with a suitcase strapped to the roof that was probably his home. if i see him again, i am going to share a loaf of bread with him. i need to remember that it could be tomorrow when i need someone to share a loaf of bread with me.
