homecoming

yesterday was the 6th anniversary of callan’s homecoming from the NICU at st. Joe. after 19 days of learning to eat, gaining weight and holding his temperature, we finally got to bring him home. i was at the NICU for the day when the neonatalogy came for rounds. she looked him over and asked me if i was ready to take him home. i asked her if she meant rooming in with him for the night and then taking him home and she answered that i knew about him and his needs than any nurse and that rooming in would not be necessary. i quickly called clark to have him bring the car seat. it was an amazing relief to know that we would be caring for him at home.
